Three winter rounds of Finnish Rally Championship series were driven in first three months of season 2016. In these rallyes which were driven in the most demanding winter conditions Young Flying Finn Emil Lindholm measured his skills behind the steering wheel of FWD Peugeot 208 R2 and Citroën DS3 R3T cars. Even he was in top speed at all three events, he made two mistakes which forced him to retire the event and collect one podium position. After three rounds he has collect 15 Finnish Rally Championship series as there are still three gravel rounds to go.

In traditional season opener, Arctic Lapland Rally Audi TT Cup driver and his very experienced co-driver Timo Hantunen were leading FRC3-group after first five special stages. However in sixth stage the duo suffered a driving mistake and were forced to retire the event due crashing out of the stage.

- In first day we were able to drive four fastest special stage times for the five stages. It was an excellent start for the season despite harsh conditions. However approximately 1,5 kms from the start of the sixth stage I made one mistake and left braking a way too late and we ditched deeply into snow bank. The car was so deep on snow that we got it out two hours later with help of organizers civil car. The retirement was very frustrating because we were in top speed, young Lindholm tells.

A month later the second Finnish Rally Championship round was driven in the region of Mikkeli. Lindholm and Hantunen entered the event with FRC4-group Citroënin DS3 R3T and were able to collect podium position and third highest Championship points.

After first two stages Sebateam drivers were again, in top speed at third position but due small driving mistakes on next stages they dropped out from the podium. However due excellent driving the duo was able to rise back into third position, which was very good result among top Finnish Rally Championship drivers.

- We had a good start but on third stage I made a small driving mistake which slided us into ditch. However this time there were lots of spectators to help us and we could continue forward with 40 seconds time loss. Then on next stages I went wide in one junction and had to restart the car in the starts of two stages. In these mistakes we lost lots of time and were dropped out of top two podium positions. However third highest Championship points were satisfying result for us, Lindholm shares his thoughts.

Third and final winter round of Finnish Rally Championship season 2016 were driven in the region of Nilsiä. Lindholm continued his campaign with Esko Reiners support Peugeot 208 R2 car and, once again, was leading FRC3-group after first two stages. However he, once again, made a small driving mistake on third stage and the car slided into snow bank in section where there were not a single spectator to share help. Therefore Lindholm and his co-driver Eetu-Pekka Hellsten were forced to retire the event.

- Winter season has shown that I have speed but still not strength for a consistent drive. In final winter round I missed one pace note my co-driver told me and I drove a bit too fast into one slow right-hand corner. The back of the car hit into snow bank and we went thru it into ditch. Because there were no spectators to help us we had to dig the car out from the ditch by ourselves. Therefore we were forced to retire the event, Lindholm told and continued, - The retirement was, once again, very frustrating because there would have been lots of competitive special stage kilometres ahead. Now we just have to wait for the snow to melt and then we'll see what and where to drive next.

Young Flying Finn, Emil Lindholm, age of 19, has made an agreement to develope his career in ADAC GT Masters and Audi Sport TT Cup series. In highly appreciated ADAC GT Masters Lindholm competes with Attemto Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 car with german team-mate André Gies, age of 22. In Audi Sport TT Cup he drives alone.

An agreement for ADAC GT Masters came alive in February at German circuit of Oschersleben where Lindholm, along four other drivers showed their performance in ShootOut -test drive. In Audi Sport TT Cup, which rounds are to be driven in German DTM-events, Lindholm is one of 14 drivers Audi had selected for the program. In season 2015 Finn was 5th in overal standings.

- My dreams have always been to drive a GT3 car and therefore I've made lots of effort for it to come true. However an agreement to drive in ADAC GT Masters came a bit early in my career but I'm confortable with the idea because this is now a bold step towards in my career. Actually it is like a lottery win, Lindholm joys and continues, - Big thanks goes to ADAC Niesersachsen and Attempto Racing to give me this possibility.

- The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 is brand new and its' equipped with 5.2 litres V10 engine which produces over 500 horse powers. Transmission is six gears sequential and complete car weight is 1225 kiloes. It is the best-ever car 've ever driven and therefore I cannot compare it to any other car I've previously driven. I'm expecting a lot season 2016 getting underway, Lindholm shares his thoughts.

In ADAC GT Masters all GT3-car manufactures, besides Ferrari, are measuring their speed. There are 35 cars entering the events and the level of competitiveness is very high. There are lots of famous ex-F1 and DTM-drivers entering series as well as winners of traditional Le Mans event and other highly competitive Formula2 and Formula3 drivers.

Lindholm knows that in GT-series he has to learn new elements like drivers and tyre changes during the event.

- We still have to train drivers changing situations and we have some job ahead in test and developement work for the brand new car. However we have similar thoughts of the setup of the car which is a very good thing because a bad compromise of the setup is not good for anybody, Lindholm tells.

- Our team hasn't yet given us any goals. However I think that at the second half of the season we have to be in top-10. Ofcourse in every event we try our best, youngster continues.

Audi-driver Emil Lindholm is able to drive with Lamborghini because both car manufacturers belong to same car manufacturer group, VAG.

- These two series provides be 28 events which is very valuable for me to develope my career, Lindholm reminds.

ADAC GT Masters starts in a week at German circuit of Oschersleben. The series includes seven competitive weekends and ends in German Hockenheim at October.

Audi TT Cup car includes 310 horse powered turbo engine which is Front-Wheel-Drive with six speed gearbox. Gears are changed in paddle-shift system which is located in steering wheel.

The series includes six competitive weekends which are driven in German DTM-events. In all weekends there are two rounds to be driven.

In season 2015 Lindholm was 5th in overall standings as he collect one pole position and one podium. This year the goals are set for better results.

- Season 2015 was very taughtful and valuable for me to develope my skills. In this series qualifying is nearly half of the race and therefore to tackle for podium positions I have to be in top-10 at qualifying, Lindholm knowsand continues, - Best grip in new tyres last just for two laps and therefore the time frame for successful qualifying is very narrow.

During the Spring Lindholm has one possibility to test Audi Sport TT Cup car. One day test was held at April 9th in German circuit of Hockenheim. Season 2016 goals are set for first victory and several podium positions.

- Everything is familiar from last season so therefore I have to set stakes much higher. Hockenheim is a familiar circuit for me and I always try to do my best in every circuit, Lindholm concludes.

In season 2016 Flying Finn Emil Lindholm, age of 19, competes in international Audi Sport TT Cup and ADAC GT Masters. Now in Midnight Summer Weekend he celebrated silver podium position in 6th round of the series which was driven in German Norisring street circuit. In previous rounds Lindholm has finished the events just a bit slower than Podium position drivers. However now in 6th round he had a superb battle for victory against his fellow Finn Joonas Lappalainen, who eventually was able to keep Lindholm behind. Therefore Emil was forced to satisfy for silver position, which is his best-ever result in the series. In overall classifications he's in 4th position as there are still eight rounds to be driven.

In his debut year at ADAC GT Masters series Lindholm hasn't been able to collect Championship points with Lamborghini Huracan GT3 car. In past events he's tacked with pitlane overspeed penalties and mistakes he and team mate, german Andre Gies has made in drivers change. However in group of 34 drivers he and Gies has finished the event in positions between 17th - 26th. Lindholm strongly believes his skills and believes that in forthcoming events they will improve their performance, reduce mistakes and will finish the events in Top-10 positions.

- In opening rounds of Audi Sport TT Cup I tackled with understeering problems. In two first rounds we found solution for the problem and immediately were in better performance on second weekend of the series. Now in third weekend, which was driven in Midnight Summer Weekend I secured my best-ever-podium position in Audi Sport TT Cup and celebrated silver position. In overall standings I'm in fourth position as there are still eight rounds to go. I'm feeling very confident for the forthcoming rounds, Lindholm tells.

- In the series of professional motorsport drivers, German ADAC GT Masters we've suffered amateur mistakes. I know when we can minimize the mistakes we'll immediately be driving for top positions. So far the competition in the season has been very hard and intense; There's absolutely no room for errors and also there's no space for being cautious in any place. Even we haven't been able to collect any Championship points I'm still thinking that this is the best place for me to develope my skills, Lindholm continues.

Audi Sport TT Cup continues in the middle of July at circuit of Dutch Zaanvort. Then a week later Lindholm competes in next two rounds of ADAC GT Masters which is to be driven in Austrian Red Bull Ring.

In current season Emil Lindholm, age of 19, has meen driven in ADAC GT Masters and Audi Sport TT Cup series. In summerish events he and german team mate Andre Gies has been in good pace in ADAC GT Masters as they've started to engage for top-10 positions. In Audi Sport TT Cup Lindholm is in fifth position in overall classifications as there are still one ADAC GT Masters and three Audi Sport TT Cup events to be driven.

Fourth Audi Sport TT Cup weekend was driven In the middle of July at Dutch circuit of Zaanvoort. Emil suffered tyre wear problems as the circuit was hard for his tyres.

For Saturdays' first event Emil started from 4th grid and, due excellent pace, passed two fellow competitors and continued driving on second position until the race was interrupted with red flag because of heavy crash. Later the race was continuned behind safety car and because of tyre wear problem Emil encountered, he dropped four positions and finished the event in sixth position.

Sunday's second race was nearly a replay from Saturdays event; Lindholm entered the race in fourth grid and was able to pass one fellow competitor but again tyre wear problems dropped him into seventh position.

Even the positions weren't the ones he had desired, his pace was excellent when remembering these events were his first-ever in Zaanvoort circuit. In free practice he was third and in qualifyings he was two times fourth fastest. However sixth and seventh positions were dissapointments for Flying Finn.

Heavy crashes in Austrian Red Bull Ring

In final weekend of July ADAC GT Masters series continued in Austrian Red Bull RIng. Finn Emil Lindholm and his german team mate Andre Gies were in again in good pace with Attempto Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3. However their weekend wasn't easy at all because in very competitive series they finished the events just 38 and 25 seconds later than winner. This time gap was enough for 17th and 16th positions in overall classifications.

In a series of professional racing drivers the gaps between drivers are very small. To reach for top positions in a over a group of 30 teams and drivers it really takes a faultless drive with superb qualifying results.

In first Red Bull Ring race Lindholm was slowed down by a spin his fellow competitor experienced. Also he was dissapointed by the top speed of Attemto Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 car. In second race Andre Gies fought well in his driving turn and passed few fellow drivers. After driving change Emil continued in same good pace, but, once again due the driving mistake his fellow competitor experienced, he lost valuable competition time. Therefore 17th and 16th positions were a bit dissapointment, even it also were season best results.

- During the weekend we weren't able to get our car into desired speed. Ofcourse the Red Bull Ring is very difficult and also other Lamborghini Huracan GT3 cars also weren't competitive against Porsche drivers. The most positive thing in this weekend was that me and Andre were able to drive our turns without big driving mistakes. Also finishing the events is always very positive thing, Lindholm reminded.

Crashes also in legendary Nürburgring

Two weeks later, in second weekend of August, ADAC GT Masters continued in legendary German Nürburgring Formula 1 circuit. Emil Lindholm and Andre Gies were again in good pace and finished the first race in 16th position. However, due crash, they were forced to retire the second race. Emil was naturally frustrated because of retirement, which was their second in ten rounds.

- Saturdays' race was satisfying because we got even to drive against reighning Champion. It was nice to see that defending Champion wasn't any more quicker than us. 16th position was also satisfying result. However we know that to improve our result we need to be faster in qualifying as top 30 drivers were also in 1,9 seconds gap, Lindholm tells.

Sundays' second race was ended for Lindholm and Gies after 15 laps as they suffered a collision with another team driver.

- I was stuck between two cars and had no time to react. Due the impacts the bumpers of our car went off and lights broke up. Then a lap later body parts hit the wheel so that there were lots of smoke in the air. Because we didn't know what the problem was, my engineer decided to pull us out from the race because a puncture could lead into a crash and lots more damages to our car, dissapointed Lindholm continued.

First-ever ADAC GT Masters points position awaits

Again two weeks later, third weekend of August Lindholm and Gies continued their campaign in ADAC GT Masters at Dutch circuit of Zaanvoort. Attemto Racing team drivers were able to reach their season best results as Emil and Andre finished the events in 14th and 13th positions.

Heavy wind and snowers coloured Zandvoort weekend. In both events Lindholm and Gies were in good pace and therefore their ADAC GT Masters current season 2016 best positions were a point of celebration for youngsters.

- It was a nice weekend even our fellow drivers tried to push us out from the circuit. Also rain showers gave us lots of extra work as we still tried to push maximum with our 500hp GT3 car. Fortunaltely this time we managed to clear out all situantions and finish the events with good positions, Lindholm tells.

- The speed of our car was improved. Therefore my first-ever points and top-10 position is not far away because this time the gap was just two seconds. We managed to drive same lap times as the drivers in front of us, but because it was very hard to pass in Zandvoort narrow circuit we decided to ease up and collect lots of valuable experiences, Lindholm continued.

For Lindholm there are still three Audi Sport TT Cup and one ADAC GT Masters weekend to be driven.

Flying Finn Emil Lindholm, age of 19, renewed his season 2015 5th position in internatonal Audi Sport TT Cup and got lots of highly valuable experience from very competitive international ADAC GT Masters series.

In season 2016 young and talented Emil Lindholm has driven three Finnish Rally Championship, 14 Audi Sport TT Cup and 14 ADAC GT Masters events. His best results were two podium finishes in Audi Sport TT Cup and 5th position in overall standings. Another Flying Finn Joonas Lappalainen collect the title of Audi Sport TT Cup season 2016 Champion.

Season 2016 got underway with three winter rounds of Finnish Rally Championship. In these events he collect one podium position in FRC4-group and two dissapointing retirements due sliding off the stages. In ADAC GT Masters Emil and his german team mate Andre Gies drove bravely and aimed for top-10 positions. In Audi Sport TT Cup Lindholm was a familiar sight in top positions. Without three dissapointing retirements and zero points he could have been driving for medal positions.

- My season 2016 goals were set for top-3 in Finnish Rally Championship series and in Audi Sport TT Cup. All the way I was heading for my goals but three retirements and zero points took the changes for reaching medal positions, Lindholm tells.

- Even in Audi Sport TT Cup I had driven before in most of the circuits, I still has learnings to do. Top-4 drivers had more experience than me and therefore 5th position was the best I could reach as two podium positions and otherwise top driving in top positions was the ones I had hoped for. Still I have homework to do with the balance of performance and top speed from start to finish, Lindholm continues.

Flying Finn tells that he has made lots of progress in his developement towards professionality.

- I'm best on starts and choosing lines to avoid traffick and crashes. However I still need experience to balance my performance, Lindholm tells.

- My goals for season 2016 were set for Audi Sport TT Cup medals. As it didn't happen and I have to satisfy for 5th position I cannot be very happy. However it was superb that Joonas Lappalainen collected the title to Finland. Many congratulations for him, Lindholm joyed.

Lots of knowledge and experience from ADAC GT Masters

In season 2016 Lindholm spent 24 weekends in European circuits. His debyt season in ADAC GT Masters series went more or less according to plans.

- It was a big step to enter GT3 series from Audi Sport TT Cup. When the season got started I familiarized myself to new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 car and got lots of knowledge and experience from everything. For example the setup for the GT3 car are nearly limitless. I still have lots to learn about setup as I now know lots more things than a year ago, Lindholm tells.

- As the season progressed my speed and results improved all the time. Therefore I know that I'm heading for right direction in my developement, Lindholm sums.

Plans for season 2017 exists but nothing has been desided yet.

- I hope that I can continue competing in GT3 cars. I will work hard to reach for these dreams, youngster ends.

German Attempto Racing entered as a guest team to international GT Open final 7th and final round of season 2016 which was driven in circuit of Barcelona. Young Flying Finn Emil Lindholm, age of 20, shared a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 seat with norwegian Christian Krognes.

Scandinavian duo had a good start for the race as in qualifying they managed to collect 7th and 3rd starting positions for weekends' two events. In first race of the weekend they drove well and finished the event in same 7th position. Second and final round of the season 2016 ended in the first lap due collision with a fellow competitor.

- It was a good weekend in very beautiful and demanding circuit. This weekend was my debut in katalonian circuit and now I understand why all Formula 1 teams want to test here as it includes many different and variable corners all the way, Lindholm tells.

Attempto Racing entered the event to test new parts for its' Lamborghini Huracan GT3. Also new technical staff introduced themselves for competition conditions. Lindholm tells that during the weekend the team was able to improve the speed and handling of the car into better direction.

- This was definitely the best performance of the whole season 2016. In first race we got stuck behind a bit slower car as we weren't able to pass them. In corners we were able to pick up their speed but on straight sections we lost grip in front of the car and therefore fellow competitors were able to speed up from ourselves, Lindholm tells.

- In second race my team mate Christian Krognes was blocking a car in one slow corner. However he left braking a bit too late and therefore he was hit by passing fellow. Unfortunately it was game over for us and also for myself for season 2016, Lindholm continues.

Season 2017 plans are currently underway for Emil Lindholm. He wishes a lot to continue his career behind the steering wheel of GT3 car. We'll let the time tell how things progresses.
